Initial Lesson with Every Student

I normally collect the Student and I will drive us to and from a quite location for the very first lesson.

This allows us to get to know each other, the student can ask questions as they wish and get a feel for the car and my instructing techniques in a quite and softer way. This normally reduces any nervous and will often see the very best results.

I always try to minimise the time I am driving for to provide the maximum amount of time behind the wheel for the student, however this initial lesson really sees benefits for all students in getting to know the car and controls in a quite location.

Occasionally if i have had to drive a little longer than I had planned I ask the student if they can be a few minutes later getting home today and will extend a few mins time as the benefit is well worth it.

Simple Road side eye test is next.

Conducted in good light the Student is required to read a car Registration plate at a distance of 20 Metres away.

They are also required to have a visual acuity of at least 0.5 on the Snellen Scale.

After we have completed the roadside eye test we need to check your provisional licence.

Checking your Provisional Licence

With Check Code: I simply login to https://www.gov.uk/check-driving-information and input your check code details. the information is only used once for Data Protection and shows your current licence details

Without Check Code:We will also need your National Insurance Number, Post Code and your Provisional Licence. same as above just takes slightly longer.
